Topeka, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team fell on the road at Washburn on Sunday afternoon 2-1. With the loss SBU drops to 0-11 (0-5 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats were the first to strike in the 31st minute when
Elin Hammar fed
Averi Walker who chipped it in from 18-yards out to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. Washburn quickly responded in the 36th minute, tying the game at 1-1, as the two teams went into the half tied. In the second half only five total shots were attempted, as the Bearcats and Ichabods ended the second half tied 1-1. However, in overtime Washburn scored 33 seconds in as the Bearcats fell 2-1.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, October 13 when they host Fort Hays State. Play is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
