Bolivar, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats host Missouri Southern on Tuesday before traveling to Pittsburg State and Central Oklahoma this weekend.

The Coaches
Caira Dortch will begin her third season as the head coach at Southwest Baptist, and holds a career coaching record of 15-44 (8-32 MIAA). Prior to soming to SBU, Dortch previously coached at Drury and Evangel.

John Napier enters his 3rd season as the head volleyball coach at Missouri Southern. Napier holds a career coaching record of 10-49 including a 6-34 mark in MIAA play.

Jen Gomez enters her 1st season as the head volleyball coach at Pittsburg State. Gomez holds a career coaching record of 202-135 after spending the previous five seasons as the head coach at Colorado State-Pueblo.

Edgar Miraku enters his 5th season as the head volleyball coach at Central Oklahoma and holds a 96-38 career coaching record.

Scouting the Opponents
Missouri Southern enters the week 3-14 (0-4 MIAA), and are coming off of a 3-0 loss at #18 Washburn. The Lions are led by Christina Perlinger who is averaging a team high 2.16 kills/set, while Bailey Rexford is second on the team with 1.82 kills/set. Setting duties are split between Bradyn Wall (6.78 assists/set) and Whitney Harrison (6.18 assists/set), while defensively Kat Gries averages 3.37 digs/set and Alicia Pickett averages 1.02 blocks/set.

Pittsburg State enters the weekend 2-14 (0-4 MIAA) and are coming off of a 3-1 loss to Missouri Western. The Gorillas  are led by Peyton Walker who averages 2.58 kills/set and is one of four Gorillas averaging over 2 kills/set. Carolina VanBuskrik leads the team with 7.11 assists/set, while Ashlen Scwartz averages a team high 3.67 digs/set.

Central Oklahoma enters the weekend 16-1 (3-1 MIAA) and are currently ranked #10 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The Bronchos are led offensively by Taylor Bevis who averages 3.64 kills/set while Ijeoma Njenje averages 2.67 kills/set. Setting duties are handled by Katy Davis (11.28 assists/set), while Dominique Lipari averages 4.36 digs/set.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist enters the week 3-14 (0-4 MIAA) on the season, and are coming off of a 3-1 loss at Emporia State. The Bearcats are led offensively by Dana Neal who averages a team high 2.59 kills/set, and is third on the team with 2.63 digs/set. Setting duties are split between Serena Mar (4.24 assists/set) and Brea Freeman (3.40 assists/set), while Bailey Baumann averages a team high 4.16 digs/set.
