Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer hung tight with nationally recognized Fort Hays State on Thursday, but fell 1-0 on a FHSU penalty kick. With the loss SBU drops to 0-12 (0-6 MIAA) on the season.
Fort Hays got on the scoreboard in the 7th minute of play off of a penalty kick as the Bearcats would end up going into the half trailing 1-0. In the second half both defenses continued their strong play as SBU was unable to get on the scoreboard in the 1-0 loss. In goal,
Makayla Hussong picked up 9 saves in the loss.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, October 15 when they host Nebraska-Kearney on senior day. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
