SBU Women's Basketball Finishes Road Trip at Pittsburg State on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist closes out their short three-game road swing when they travel to Pittsburg State on Saturday.

The Coaches
SBU head coach Kelsey Keizer in her second season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to a 9-18 (4-15 MIAA) record last season. Coach Keizer had spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.

Lane Lord is in his 9th season as the head coach at Pittsburg State. Lord holds a career Division II coaching record of 154-83, all while at PSU.

Pittsburg State leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 31-25. The Gorillas claimed last year's only meeting 81-58 after the Bearcats knocked the Gorillas out of the MIAA Tournament during the 2013-14 season.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist is coming off of a 74-61 loss at Missouri Southern, and are now 7-6 (2-5 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring and rebounding by Caylee Richardson who is averaging just short of a double-double at 12.6 ppg and 8.5 rpg, while Megan Rosenbohm also averages 11.0 ppg. Dilonna Johnson averages 9.5 ppg and a team high 3.9 apg, while Mackenzie Skupa is averaging 8.9 ppg and 4.0 rpg.

Scouting the Gorillas
Pittsburg State is coming off of a 87-69 loss at home to Central Missouri, and are now 11-4 (5-4 MIAA) entering the contest against Southwest Baptist. The Gorillas are led in scoring by Mikaela Burgess who averages 16.1 ppg. Cathy Brugman averages 13.0 ppg and 5.6 rpg, while Kylie Gafford averages 12.8 ppg and a team high 6.2 rpg.
