Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist continues their three game road trip on Thursday when they travel to Missouri Southern.
The Coaches and the All-Time SeriesSBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her second season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to a 9-18 (4-15 MIAA) record last season. Coach Keizer had spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.
Ronda Hubbard is in her 3rd season as the head coach at Missouri Southern, and her 15th season on the coaching staff. Hubbard holds a career coaching record of 39-15, while her 39 wins across two seasons ranks 5th all-time at MSSU.
Missouri Southern leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 42-21. The Lions claimed both meeting last season, including a 58-55 victory their last time out.
Scouting the BearcatsSouthwest Baptist is coming off of a tough 77-74 road loss to Central Missouri on Monday, and are now 7-5 (2-4 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring and rebounding by
Caylee Richardson who is averaging just short of a double-double at 11.8 ppg and 8.9 rpg, while
Megan Rosenbohm also averages 11.8 ppg.
Dilonna Johnson is in double-figures at 10.1 ppg and a team high 4.1 apg, while
Mackenzie Skupa is averaging 9.3 ppg and 4.0 rpg.
Scouting the LionsMissouri Southern enters the game against Southwest Baptist with a 9-5 (3-5 MIAA) record on the season. The Lions are coming off of a 68-60 road loss to Fort Hays State, and have dropped three straight contests. MSSU is led in scoring and rebouding by Sharese Jones who averages 16.9 ppg and 6.9 rpg, while Deb Holcomb is also in double-figures at 13.7 ppg.
