SBU Women Look to Keep Win Streak Alive Against #11 Emporia State on Thursday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist returns home on Thursday to host #11 Emporia State, before playing host to Washburn on the weekend.

The Coaches and All-Time Series
SBU head coach Kelsey Keizer in her second season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to a 9-18 (4-15 MIAA) record last season. Coach Keizer had spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.

Jory Collins is in his 6th season as the head coach at Emporia State. Collins holds a career coaching record of 127-36, while guiding ESU to four NCAA Tournament appearances in his five season as head coach.

Emporia State leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 35-12. The Lady Hornets claimed last year's meeting 74-63 in Bolivar.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist is coming off of their fourth straight victory, a 67-56 road win over Northeastern State, and are now 11-7 (6-6 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by Caylee Richardson who averages 12.3 ppg and 8.1 rpg, while Megan Rosenbohm averages 11.3 ppg off of the bench. Dilonna Johnson averages 11.0 ppg and a team high 3.9 apg, while Mackenzie Skupa is averaging 7.3 ppg and Sarah Magana is averaging 3.8 apg.

Scouting the Lady Hornets
Emporia State enters the contest against Southwest Baptist 15-3 (9-3 MIAA) on the season. The Lady Hornets are coming off of a 53-41 road victory over Washburn, and are currently ranked #11 in the latest WBCA Coaches Poll. ESU is led in scoring by Kelly Moten who averages 16.3 ppg and 5.1 apg, while Sandra Ngoie averages 12.9 ppg and 7.2 rpg. Kelsey Barnwell is also in double-figures averaging 11.0 ppg, while Kathryn Flott pulls down a team high 8.4 rpg.
