Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist returns to MIAA play on Monday after tak- ing a one game break from conference action.
The Coaches and the All-Time SeriesSBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his second season on the SBU bench after coming off of a 11-18 (6-13 MIAA) record last sea- son. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 193-119 across ten seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Doug Karleskint enters his 2nd season as the head coach at Central Missouri. Karleskint spent the previous four season as the head coach at Arkansas Tech, and holds a career coaching record of 115-41.
Central Missouri leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 41-22. The Mules claimed victories in both meetings last year, 71-67 at UCM and 67-64 at SBU.
Scouting the BearcatsThe Bearcats are coming off of a 95-76 victory over Sterling College, and are now 7-4 (2-3 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by
Brian Patterson who averages 15.5 ppg and 6.6 rpg, while
Logan Hovey averages just short of a double-double at 14.8 ppg and 9.0 rpg.
Cartier Dean averages 7.5 ppg, and Marley Biyendo- lo averages 7.2 ppg. SBU is outrebounding their opponents by just under 10 rebounds per game (38.4 rpg to 29.1 rpg).
Scouting the MulesCentral Missouri enters the contest against South- west Baptist with an 8-3 (2-3 MIAA) record on the season. The Mules have dropped two straight, including a 98-95 overtime loss to Nebraska- Kearney their last time out. UCM is led in scoring by D'Marnier Cunningham who is averaging 17.5 ppg, while Spencer Reaves averages 12.3 ppg and Roosevelt Scott averages 11.8 ppg. Marquiez Lawrence averages a team high 8.9 rpg to go along with 11.5 ppg.
