Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will return home to host Lincoln on Thursday after a short three-game road trip.
The CoachesSBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his second season on the SBU bench after coming off of a 11-18 (6-13 MIAA) record last season. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 193-119 across ten seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
John Moseley enters his 2nd season as the head coach at Lincoln. Moseley, who also serves as Lincoln's interim A.D., holds a coaching record of 4-24 while at Lincoln.
Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Lincoln 29-15. The Bearcats claimed both victories last season, including a 89-66 at home.
Scouting the BearcatsThe Bearcats are coming off of a big 83-71 victory at Pittsburg State and are now 8-6 (3-5 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by
Brian Patterson who averages 14.9 ppg and 6.2 rpg, while
Logan Hovey averages just short of a double-double at 14.1 ppg and 8.2 rpg.
Cartier Dean averages 8.0 ppg, while
Kai Woodfall averages 6.9 ppg and
Nate Nahirny 6.3 ppg. SBU is outrebounding their opponents by just over 8 rebounds per game (37.6 rpg to 29.3 rpg).
Scouting the Blue TigersLincoln comes into the game against Southwest Baptist with a 10-5 (6-3 MIAA) record on the season. The Blue Tigers are coming off of a 76-70 victory over Fort Hays after dropping their previous two games. LU is led in scoring by Anthony Virdure who is avergaing 23.1 ppg while Jaylon Smith averages 19.7 ppg. O'Shai Clark averages 9.2 ppg to go along with a team high 4.7 rpg.
