SBU Women's Soccer Opens up Home Schedule on Wednesday vs #6 Quincy

Location: Mattke Field; Marshall, Minn.

Bolivar, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats will return home to face #6 Quincy in the Bearcats' home opener on Wednesday before hitting the road on Sunday to take on Southwest Minnesota State.

The Coaches
Megan Link will begin her first season as the head coach at Southwest Baptist after taking over a program which advanced to the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons. Link came to SBU after coaching one season at Quincy.

Dave Musso enters his 10th season as the head coach at Quincy. Musso holds a career record of 128-46-19, and has guided Quincy to the NCAA tournament in eight of his nine years while at QU.

Erin Kasmarik-Mallett begins her first season as the head coach at Southwest Minnesota State. She has served as the head boys' soccer coach at Brookings (S.D.) High School the past two seasons.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist enters the week 0-2 on the season after falling at Augustana 5-1 and to Northern State 2-1. SBU has received goals from Whitney Snow and Averi Walker to lead their offensive attack.

Scouting the Opponents
Quincy enters the week ranked as the #6 team in the latest NSCAA National Coaches Poll. The Hawks took down two-time defending national champion #1 Grand Valley State last week, as well as defeating Ferris State to stand at 2-0 on the season. The Hawks are led in scoring by Ashley Burton and Abby Pulliam who both have two goals a piece.

Southwest Minnesota State enters the week with an 0-1-1 record after playing two MIAA schools to open up their season. The Mustangs fell to Fort Hays 1-0 before tying with Washburn 0-0. In goal, Kristy Leopold has a GAA of 0.47 with 190 minutes logged this season.
