"It was a slow start for us," head coach
Nick Pettit stated after the game. "We gave up two early goals, but we regrouped at halftime and played better in the second half. We had one goal called back due to an offsides call, but we still had our chances to score. There were a lot of positives in this for us too, but we just need to build on those, fix our mistakes, and look forward to the next game Saturday. We have a good group and they are coming along. The next 14 days are tough with minimal breaks, but many winnable games in this stretch. I'm proud of the boys for not giving up and still working."
SBU will be back in action on Saturday, September 5 for their home opener against Dallas Baptist. Play is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
