Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team continues to play extremely well against nationally recognized opponents, but came up just short in a 1-0 loss to #20 Lindenwood. With the loss, SBU now falls to a deceiving 0-8 (0-2 MIAA) despite five one goal losses on the season.
The Bearcats and Lions played an extremely tight contest throughout both halves on Saturday, with neither team seeing many strong scoring opportunities during the game. The SBU defense played strong in front of keeper
Lajos Zadravecz, but Lindenwood was able to knock a goal into the net in the final 30 seconds of regulation as the Bearcats lost a heartbreaker 1-0. Zadravecz picked up five saves in goal, while
Garrett Gibson led SBU with four shot attempts.
SBU will return to action on Friday, October 2 when they open up a six game road trip by traveling to #12 Fort Hays State. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Hays, Kansas.
