SBU Women's Soccer Travels to Fort Hays and Nebraska-Kearney

Bolivar, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats hit the road for a four-game road trip to open up MIAA play. SBU will take on Fort Hays on Friday, followed by a Sunday match-up against Nebraska-Kearney.

The Coaches
Megan Link will begin her first season as the head coach at Southwest Baptist after taking over a program which advanced to the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons. Link came to SBU after coaching one season at Quincy. 

Craig Shaw enters his 5th season as the head coach at Fort Hays State, compiling a record of 40-31-7 while at FHSU, and 78-51-10 overall (7 years). 

John Maessner enters his 4th season as the head coach at Nebraska-Kearney, compiling a record of 21-27-7 across his first three years.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist enters the week 3-3 (0-0 MIAA) on the season, and is currently riding a three-game win streak. The Bearcats defeated Missouri Southern 5-2, and Central Oklahoma 2-1, last week in non-conference matches. SBU is led by Karla Jamison who has scored 6 goals with 2 assists on the season, while Caroline Karlsson has netted 3 goals to go along with 3 assists.

Scouting the Opponents
Fort Hays State enters the game against Southwest Baptist with a 3-3 (0-0 MIAA) record on the season. Fort Hays is currently riding a two-game win streak, most recently taking down Emporia State 3-2. The Tigers are led in scoring by Cassi Moosburger, who has one goal and three assists, while seven different players have netted a goal. 

Nebraska-Kearney enters the week with a 1-3-2 (0-0 MIAA) record on the season. UNK has lost three straight, most recently to Washburn 3-1. The Lopers are led in scoring by Montanna Hosterman and Evie Sintek who have both scored two goals a piece. In goal, Ali Hirschman has a GAA of 1.29, while collecting 29 saves.
