Box Score 2 Kansas City, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team swept Bellarmine 3-0 before falling to #13 Rockhurst 3-0 on Saturday. At the conclusion of the day, the Bearcats now stand at 2-8 on the season.
In SBU's 3-0 sweep over Bellarmine, the Bearcats took set one 25-21, set two 25-12, and the final set 25-22. The Bearcats were led in kills by
Dana Neal with 11 and
Anna Stuehm with 10. Stuehm also added 32 assists in the victory to give her a double-double on the day, while
Hannah Blount had 18 digs,
Serena Mar had 16 digs, and
Kalyn Sotomayor added 7 blocks. In SBU's 3-0 loss to #13 Rockhurst,
Payton White had a team high 10 kills, while Stuehm had 26 assists and Blount had 14 digs.
The Bearcats will hit the road on Friday, September 25th when they travel to Northwest Missouri to open up MIAA play. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Maryville, Missouri.
