Box Score Marshall, Minn. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team picked up their first victory of the 2015 season with a 3-2 overtime victory over Southwest Minnesota on Sunday. With the victory, SBU improves to 1-3 on the season.
In the 9th minute of play,
Karla Jamison knocked in her first goal of the day, her second on the season, to put the Bearcats up 1-0. SMSU responded with goals in the 14th and 28th minutes as SBU went into the half trailing 2-1. In the second half the Bearcats received another goal from Jamison in the 58th minute to even the score at 2-2, and would stand through the end of regulation. In the first overtime period, SBU wasted no time when Jamison knocked in her third goal of the season only 47 seconds into the overtime period as the Bearcats claimed a 3-2 victory.
SBU will be back in action on Thursday, September 17 when they travel to Missouri Southern for a game against the Lions. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Joplin, Missouri.
