SBU Men's Soccer Home Opener Set for Saturday Against Dallas Baptist

Bolivar, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats will open up the 2015 season on the road at Columbia College on Thursday before returning home for their home opener on Saturday against Dallas Baptist.

The Coaches
Nick Pettit takes over as the new head coach of the men's soccer program after spending the previous two years as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Baptist and the head boy's soccer coach at Midwest City High School.

John Klein is entering his 15th year as the head men's soccer coach at Columbia College, while also coaching the women's team. Klein is currently the winningest soccer coach in Columbia history with a career coaching record of 186-87-29.

Chip Dutchik begins his first season on the bench at Dallas Baptist. Dutchik comes to DBU from Lynn University where he coached the women's soccer program from 2009-2014.

Scouting the Opponents
Columbia College enters the week with a 1-0 record on the season after defeating Avila University 5-0. In 2014, the Cougars compiled an 11-6-2 record 

Dallas Baptist is coming off of a 3-14-1 record in 2014, and have lost 8 straight heading into the start of the 2015 season. DBU will square off against Harding on Thursday prior to their matchup against SBU.
