Springfield, Mo. - For the fifth straight year, the Southwest Baptist University women's tennis team has won the MIAA Women's Tennis Championship Tournament and has earned the automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament. With the victory, the Bearcats improve to 22-2 and will carry a six game win streak into the NCAA Central Regional.
The Bearcats took a strong 2-1 lead after doubles competition, with

Lani Tuemmers collecting wins at #1 and #2 doubles. The Bearcats then won in straight sets at #1, #2, and #3 singles with Varga, Zentai, and Zehnder all picking up victories to help SBU claim their 5th straight MIAA Championship.
The Bearcats had earned an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament, and will await the annoucement of their opponent at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28.
