In the third, Southwest Baptist opened up the game by plating 8 runs and taking an 8-2 lead. The Bearcats opened up the inning with back-to-back singles from
Kyle Jochems and
Zach Snodgrass before
Chance Wolfe hit an rbi single to right center, followed by an rbi fielder's choice by
Spencer Blacksher to tie the game up at 2-2.
Ross Wolfe then hit an rbi single, followed by a
Cory Canterbury rbi single, and a
Trevor Bowling rbi double to extend the SBU lead to 5-2. After back-to-back walks from
Jake Vore and Jochems, the Bearcats added two more runs off of an LU error to take a 7-2 lead. SBU added on more run in the inning when
Christian Binger was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to take an 8-2 lead after three innings of play. The Bearcats added one more run in the fourth, and held off a late UCO surge, as they went on to claim an 9-5 game one victory. On the mound

In game two the Bearcats were the first to strike when Canterbury singled home Binger in the top of the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. However, Central Oklahoma responded in the bottom half of the inning, scoring six runs, as SBU trailed 6-1 after four. SBU got a run back in the fifth off of a Snodgrass rbi single, and made things interesting in the seventh inning trying to mount a comeback. Vore led the top of the seventh inning off with a double down the left field line, followed by a Jochems walk, and two batters later
Thomas Dean drew a walk to load the bases with one out. Binger then singled through the left side, scoring Vore, followed by a two-rbi single from Blacksher as SBU cut the UCO lead down to one at 6-5. However, it wasn't quite enough as the Bearcats would end up falling to the Bronchos 6-5.
