Springfield, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's tennis team picked up a 5-3 victory over Northwest Missouri on Saturday morning to earn a spot in the MIAA Women's Tennis Championship Finals. After the victory, SBU improves to 21-2 on the season.

The Bearcats started things off by taking two of the three doubles matches, with Fanni Varga/Christina Zentai and Lani Tuemmers/Maria Josie Zehnder both claiming victories for SBU. Varga, Zentai, and Zehnder all won their singles matches in straight sets as SBU claimed the 5-3 team victory.

SBU will return to action on Sunday, April 26 when they play #21 Northeastern State in the finals of the MIAA Women's Tennis Championship Match. Play is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. from the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
