Box Score 2 Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team fell in a double-header matchup against Drury on Tuesday afternoon 6-0 and 2-1. At the conclusion of the day, the Bearcats now stand at 18-25 on the season.
In the second game of the day, DU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning before
Brittanie Halquist tied the game up with a solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth. Drury responded with a run in the sixth, and the Bearcats were unable to answer as they fell 2-1. In game one Drury jumped out a 2-0 lead after the first inning of play, and extended their lead to 6-0 through three innings. SBU was able to settle down, allowing only three hits over the final four innings, but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats fell 6-0 in game one.
Southwest Baptist will return to action on Tuesday, April 21 when they travel to Williams Baptist. Opening pitch of game one of the double-header is set for 2:00 p.m. from Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
