SBU Baseball Falls in DH on the Road at Lindenwood

St. Charles, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team fell on the road in a double-header at Lindenwood 5-2 & 8-1 as they drop to 15-21 (9-18 MIAA) on the season.

In game one the Bearcats got the scoring started in the top of the first inning when Spencer Blacksher hit a two-out solo homerun to put SBU up 1-0. Lindenwood responded in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game at 1-1, before the Lions scored four more runs to take a 5-1 lead heading into the top of the seventh. In the seventh, the Bearcats had runners on second and third when Chance Wolfe hit an rbi groundout, as SBU trailed 5-2. However, the Bearcats were unable to score any more runs as they fell 5-2 in game one.

In game two Lindenwood quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning of play. SBU got one run back in the top of the second when Cory Canterbury hit an rbi groundout, scoring Ross Wolfe, as SBU trailed 4-1. The Bearcats were unable to push another run across the plate on the day, as they ended up falling 8-1 in game two.

The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday, April 12 when they play Lindenwood in the final game of the four-game series. Opening pitch is set to begin 1:00 p.m. from St. Charles, Missouri.
