Box Score 2 Tahlequah, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team fell in a double-header on the road at Northeastern State on Saturday. The Bearcats dropped the first game 6-1 before falling in game two 2-1.
In game one of the double-header, the Bearcats were the first to get on the scoreboard in the top of fifth when
Zach Pirrello singled home
Caleb Sneed to put SBU up 1-0. However, Northeastern State strung together hits in the bottom half of the inning, plating 5 runs, while also adding another run in the sixth as SBU would fall 6-1 in game one.
In game two, the Bearcats fell behind early by giving up runs in the first and third as they headed into the fourth trailing 2-0. With one out in the inning,
Spencer Blacksher hit a solo homerun down the left field line to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. The Bearcats were unable to get on the board again as they fell in game two 2-1.
SBU will return to action on Sunday, March 8 for game three of a four-game series against the RiverHawks. Opening pitch of the nine-inning game is set for 1:00 p.m. from Tahlequah, Okla.
