Clark Sheehy begins his second season on the SBU bench after coming off of a 11-18 (6-13 MIAA) record last season. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 193-119 across ten seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Kevin Lofton begins his 11th season as the head coach at Nebraska-Kearney, holding the co-head coach title for the past 10 years. Lofton holds a career coaching record of 156-125.
The series between Southwest Baptist and Nebraska-Kearney is tied 3-3. The Lopers defeated the Bearcats last season in the opening round of the MIAA Tournament 90-74 in Kearney, Nebraska.
Scouting the BearcatsThe Bearcats are coming off of an 79-76 victory over Missouri Western and are now 5-2 (1-1 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by

Scouting the LopersNebraska-Kearney enters the contest against Southwest Baptist with a 4-3 (1-1 MIAA) record on the season. The Lopers are coming off of a 82-76 victory over Washburn after falling to Emporia State earlier in the week. UNK is led in scoring and rebounding by Connor Beranek who is averaging 24.6 ppg and 9.3 rpg. Ethan Brozek averages 15.0 ppg and 6.1 rpg, while Trey Lansman averages 12.7 ppg.
