SBU Men's Basketball Returns to Action by Hosting Sterling College on Wednesday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist closes out the caldenar year by hosting Sterling College in non-conference action.

The Coaches
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his second season on the SBU bench after coming off of a 11-18 (6-13 MIAA) record last sea- son. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 193-119 across ten seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

Dean Jaderston enters his 10th season as the head coach at Sterling College. Jaderston is the winningest coach in Sterling College men's basketball history, collecting 160 wins over his nine seasons coaching.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats are coming off of a 83-66 loss to Fort Hays State, and are now 6-4 (2-3 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by Brian Patterson who averages 15.4 ppg and 6.8 rpg, while Logan Hovey averages just short of a double-double at 14.3 ppg and 9.4 rpg. Cartier Dean averages 8.1 ppg, and Marley Biyendolo aver- ages 6.9 ppg. SBU is outrebounding their opponents by 10 rebounds per game (38.9 rpg to 28.9 rpg).

Scouting the Warriors
Sterling College enters the game against Southwest Baptist with a 6-8 record on the season. The Warriors are coming off of a 78-72 win over Northern New Mexico. SC is led in scoring and re- bounding by Terrence Boyd who averages 16.7 ppg and 9.2 rpg. Brandon Givens is also in double figures at 12.1 ppg, while Josiah Ray aver- ages 10.6 ppg.
