Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist is set to open up MIAA play when they host Northwest Missouri on Thursday.
The Coaches & The All-Time SeriesSBU head coach 
Kelsey Keizer in her second season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to a 9-18 (4-15 MIAA) record last season. Coach Keizer had spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.
Michael Smith is in his 3rd season as the head coach at Northwest Missouri after coming to the Bearcats from Truman State. Smith holds a career coaching record of 86-105, including 18-37 at Northwest Missouri.
Northwest Missouri leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 32-24. Southwest Baptist claimed a 67-47 in Bolivar during the 2014-15 season.
Scouting Southwest BaptistSouthwest Baptist is coming off of an 84-47 victory over Missouri Baptist in their final tune-up prior to MIAA competition. SBU now stands at 4-1 on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring and rebounding by 
Caylee Richardson who is averaging just short of a double-double at 13.8 ppg and 9.2 rpg. 
Dilonna Johnson averages 10.0 ppg, including shooting 50.0% from beyond the arc, while 
Megan Rosenbohm is averaging 9.4 ppg and 
Mackenzie Skupa is averaging 9.2 ppg and 5.6 rpg.
Scouting Northwest MissouriNorthwest Missouri is coming off of a 67-35 victory over the University of Saint Mary, and now stand at 2-4 after dropping their first four contests of the season. Northwest Missouri is led in scoring by Tanya Meyer who averages 11.3 ppg, while Jasmin Howe is also in double-figures averaging 10.7 ppg. Tember Schechinger averages a team high 7.7 rpg to go along with 9.5 ppg.
