Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist returns home on Saturday to host #1 Fort Hays State in the final MIAA contest before the new year.
The Coaches and All-Time SeriesSBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her second season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to a 9-18 (4-15 MIAA) record last season. Coach Keizer had spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.
Tony Hobson is in his 8th season as the head coach at Fort Hays State. Hobson holds a career coaching record of 343-111, including 132-71 at Fort Hays State.
Fort Hays leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 9-6. Fort Hays claimed a 72-56 victory in their only meeting last season in Hays.
Scouting the BearcatsSouthwest Baptist is coming off of a 68-55 road loss to Washburn, and are now 5-4 (1-3 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring and rebounding by
Caylee Richardson who is averaging just short of a double-double at 13.3 ppg and 9.0 rpg.
Megan Rosenbohm is also in double-figures, averaging 11.3 ppg.
Dilonna Johnson is averaging 9.1 ppg and a team high 3.4 apg, while
Mackenzie Skupa is averaging 8.4 ppg and 4.3 rpg.
Scouting the TigersFort Hays comes into the contest against Southwest Baptist with a 10-0 (4-0 MIAA) record on the season. The Tigers are coming off of an 59-50 victory at Central Missouri, and are currently the #1 ranked team in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll. FHSU is led in scoring by Chelsea Mason who averages 13.2 ppg, while Beth Bohuslavsky averages 11.8 ppg and a team high 3.4 apg. Jill Faxon (11.5 ppg) and Paige Lunsford (10.3 ppg) are both averages double-figures.
