Hays, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team fell in the opening round of the MIAA Tournament 2-1 to Fort Hays State on Wednesday evening. With the loss, SBU finishes the season 9-9-1.

Both teams gave forth a strong defensive effort in the first half, as the Bearcats and Tigers went into halftime tied 0-0, despite SBU outshooting FHSU 13-3. In the second half Fort Hays State jumped ahead 1-0 in the 61st minute, and added another goal in the 86th minute. SBU got one goal back, also in the 86th minute, when Kate Jamison knocked in a goal off of a deflection from the keeper to cut the lead to 2-1. However, it wasn't enough as the Bearcats would eventually fall 2-1.
