SBU Women's Basketball Set for First Road Game of the Season at McKendree on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist hits the road to take on GLVC opponent McKendree before returning home for four straight home contests beginning the following week.

The Coaches
SBU head coach Kelsey Keizer in her second season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to a 9-18 (4-15 MIAA) record last season. Coach Keizer had spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.

Kari Kerkhoff begins her 1st season as head coach at McKendree. Kerkhoff has spent time serving as an associate head coach at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and assistant coach at Bradley.

Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against McKendree 1-0, picking up a 54-43 home victory last season.

Scouting Southwest Baptist
Southwest Baptist is coming off of a tough 84-69 loss to #11 Drury, and are now 2-1 on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring and rebounding by Caylee Richardson who is averaging a double-double at 16.7 ppg and 10.7 rpg. Dilonna Johnson averages 16.0 ppg, including shooting 58.8% from beyond the arc, while Megan Rosenbohm is averaging 10.3 ppg and Mackenzie Skupa 9.3 ppg.

Scouting McKendree
McKendree is coming off of a 71-59 loss to Hillsdale after defeating Lake Superior State 51-40 last weekend as they stand at 1-1 on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by Ashley Klass and Kelsee Ennis who average 11.0 ppg a piece. Kacey Johnson is also in double figures at 10.5 ppg and a team high 6.0 rpg.
