Box Score Photo GalleryBolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team fell at home to Pittsburg State on Friday evening 3-1. With the loss, the Bearcats drop to 3-13 (1-5 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats and Gorillas used extra play to determine the set one winner, with PSU claiming the set 29-27. The Bearcats came back to take set two 25-16, before falling in the final two sets 25-23 and 25-19.
Anna Stuehm had arguably the best game of her young career, posting her first career triple double with 39 assists, 13 digs, and 12 kills.
Taryn Marton recorded a double-double with game high 15 kills to go along with 12 digs, while
Payton White was also in double-figures with 11 kills. Defensively,
Hannah Blount led the Bearcats with a game high 25 digs, while
Serena Mar added 12 digs and
Bailey Baumann chipped in 10 digs.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, October 10 when they host #14 Central Oklahoma. Play is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
