Hannah Blount Breaks Career Digs Record in 3-1 Victory over Missouri Southern

Box Score Joplin, Mo. - Southwest Baptist University senior Hannah Blount broke the all-time digs record at SBU as they Bearcats picked up their first MIAA victory of the season in a 3-1 win over Missouri Southern. With the win, SBU improves to 3-12 (1-4 MIAA) on the season.

The Bearcats claimed the first two sets of the match 25-16 and 25-22 before dropping the third set 23-25. However, SBU came back to take the fourth and final set 25-18 to complete the 3-1 victory. Hannah Blount picked up 21 digs in the victory, breaking the SBU career record for digs, as she now sits at 1,733 career digs. Taryn Marton continues to lead the team in kills, as she produced 11, while Payton White also chipped in 10 kills. Anna Stuehm narrowly missed a double-double as she had a career high 38 assists to go along with 9 kills.

The Bearcats will be back in action on Friday, October 9 when they host Pittsburg State. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
