Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team continues to fight hard, but dropped a close 3-0 match to Emporia State on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, SBU falls to 2-12 (0-4 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats had leads in all three sets in the contest, but were unable to put away any of the sets as they fell 26-24, 25-21, and 25-20.
Taryn Marton and
Payton White both produced a team high 9 kills, while
Anna Stuehm added 23 assists, and
Hannah Blount had 9 digs in the loss.
SBU will return to action on Tuesday, October 6 when they travel to Missouri Southern. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Joplin, Missouri.
