Fayetteville, Ark. - The Southwest Baptist University women's cross country team had a strong showing at the Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday morning, finish 6th out of 33 teams in the College Division. On the men's side, the Bearcats took home 8th place out of 33 teams.
Elizabeth Luckel was the top SBU finisher with a 15th place finish in a time of 16:59.08.
Mary Carr was the next to cross the finish line with a 69th place finish in a time of 18:00.98 while
Ashley Lawson took 93rd in a time of 18:16.98.
Rachel Wheeler brought home a 115th place finish in a time of 18:30.03, while
Alexis Fritz finished 136th (18:39.22),
Katelyn Evans 161st (18:49.86), and Brianna Watson 192nd (19:08.29).
On the men's side
Drew Cargill was the top SBU finisher with a 74th place finish in a time of 25:14.56, while Jake Burch finished 87th in a time of 25:27.03.
Cody Troy Smith finished 121st in a time of 25:45.82, while
Jeremy Inman finished 125th (25:46.01),
Thomas Chabrecek finished 149th (26:00.91),
Derek Showler 170th (26:11.99), and
Max Robinson 244th (26:55.38).
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, October 10 for the Jackling Jocks Invitational in Rolla, Missouri.
