Garrett Gibson knocked home his seventh goal of the season, but SBU fall at #22 Fort Hays 3-1 on Friday evening. With the loss, SBU drops to 0-9 (0-3 MIAA) on the year.
In the first half FHSU jumped ahead quickly, scoring goals in the 3rd and 11th minutes of action to take a 2-0 lead. The Bearcats settled down, preventing FHSU from scoring again the first half as SBU trailed 2-0 at the break. In the second half, the Tigers extended their lead in the 60th minute of play before SBU got one goal back in the 73rd minute when
Garrett Gibson knocked in his 7th goal of the season from
Dylan Saib. However, the Bearcats would end up fall 3-1 in the end. In goal,
Lajos Zadravecz picked up 9 saves in the loss.
SBU will be back in action on Saturday, October 10 when they travel to Harding for a non-conference re-match of earlier this season. Play is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. from Searcy, Arkansas.
