SBU Men's Soccer Returns to MIAA Play at #17 Northeastern State on Thursday

Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Bearcats will continue their six game road trip when they travel to Northeastern State on Thursday, before stepping out of MIAA play to face Lindenwood-Belleville on Saturday.

The Coaches
Nick Pettit takes over as the new head coach of the men's soccer program after spending the previous two years as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Baptist and the head boy's soccer coach at Midwest City High School. 

Rob Czlonka enters his 5th season as the head coach at Northeastern State. Czlonka holds a career coaching record of 48-17-12. 

Dan Hogan enters his 7th year as the head coach at LU-Belleville. Hogan holds a career mark of 254-217-28, and 61-27-11 at LU-Belleville.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist enters the week 0-10 (0-3 MIAA) after coming off of a 3-1 loss at Harding. Garrett Gibson leads the way for SBU, having scored 7 goals to go along with 1 assist on the season. Hunter McRoberts sits second on the team in scoring with 2 goals.

Scouting the Opponent
Northeastern State comes into the match against Southwest Baptist with a 8-4 (2-1 MIAA) record on the season. NSU is riding a four game win streak after most recently beating Southern Nazarene 7-0. The RiverHawks are led offensively by Joseph Garcia with 5 goals and 4 assists, and Trevor Reed with 5 goals and 1 assist. In goal, Eric Shephard has collected 47 saves to go along with a 1.02 GAA.
