Box Score Photo GalleryBolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team came up short in a 5-1 loss to #9 Central Missouri on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, SBU falls to 7-5 (4-2 MIAA) on the season.
After a strong 25 minutes of play from both sides, the Jennies got on the scoreboard first in the 25th minute of action to take a 1-0 lead. Even though the Bearcats outshot the Jennies in the first half, 9-6, SBU trailed going into the break 0-1. In the second half, UCM scored in the 65th and 67th minutes to extend their lead to 3-0, before SBU got on the scoreboard in the 79th minute of play.
Taylor Rohde sent a corner kick into the middle of the box, where
Karla Jamison knocked in her 12th goal of the season, cutting the Jennies lead to 3-1. However, Central Missouri in the 88th and 89th minutes as SBU fell 5-1.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, October 15 when they host Emporia State. Play is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
