SBU Men's Basketball Travels to Lincoln on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist hits the road for one game against Lincoln before returning home for a pair of MIAA games next week.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his first season on the SBU bench after coming to the Bearcats from John Brown University. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 182-106 across nine seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

John Moseley enters into his first year as the head coach at Lincoln. Moseley joins the Blue Tigers after spending the past four year at North Carolina Central University, including the last three year's as the associate head coach.

Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Lincoln 25-17. The Bearcats won last year's meeting at Lincoln 98-69.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats are coming off of a home 73-66 loss to Lindenwood are are now 8-11 (3-7 MIAA) on the season. Southwest Baptist is led in scoring by Menas Stephens who averages a double-double at 11.9 points per game and an MIAA high 10.2 rebounds per game. Daymond Cowlah also averages 10.1 points per game to go along with 2.8 assists per game, while Derrick Stewart averages 8.2 points per game, Quniton Smith averages 7.4 points per game, Finn Delany averages 7.2 points per game, and Robert Shaw averages 7.0 points per game.

Scouting the Blue Tigers
Lincoln enters into the game against Southwest Baptist with a 4-14 (1-8 MIAA) record on the season. LU is coming off of a 71-62 loss to Central Missouri and have dropped eight in a row. The Blue Tigers are led in scoring by Joshua Buie who is averaging 16.9 ppg. Mike Smith (13.2 ppg) and Victor Scott (10.9 ppg) are both averaging double-figures, while Zach Schraeder pulls down a team high 4.8 rpg.
