Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team will travel to Northwest Missouri on Wednesday evening for the Battle of the Bearcats.
The Coaches and the All-Time SeriesSBU head coach 
Clark Sheehy begins his first season on the SBU bench after coming to the Bearcats from John Brown University. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 182-106 across nine seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Ben McCollum is in his 6th year as the head coach at Northwest Missouri. McCollum led NWMSU to two MIAA regular season championships and one NCAA Elite Eight appearance during his tenure.
Northwest Missouri leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 37-19. Northwest Missouri claimed a 89-62 victory last season in Bolivar.
Scouting Southwest BaptistThe Bearcats fell to the MIAA leading Central Oklahoma Bronchos 73-61 on Saturday. SBU now stands at 8-8 (3-4 MIAA) on the season. Southwest Baptist is led in scoring by 
Menas Stephens who averages a double-double at 11.1 points per game and a team high 10.1 rebounds per game. 
Daymond Cowlah also averages 10.4 points per game to go along with 2.8 assists per game, while 
Quinton Smith averages 8.3 points per game, 
Derrick Stewart averages 8.1 points per game, 
Robert Shaw averages 7.4 points per game, and 
Finn Delany averages 7.1 points per game.
Scouting Northwest MissouriNorthwest Missouri enters into the game against Southwest Baptist with a 12-3 (5-2 MIAA) record on the season. NWMSU is coming off of a 70-64 home loss to Washburn. The Bearcats are led in scoring by Justin Pitts who averages 16.8 ppg and 3.6 apg. Conner Crooker is also in double-figures at 13.9 ppg while Zach Schneider averages 12.9 ppg and Grant Cozad averages 11.9 ppg.
