Box Score Warrensburg, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team fell in a non-conference match against Augustana on Monday morning 5-2. With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 1-1 on the season.
Augustana got the scoring started early knocking in three goals in the first half and taking a 3-0 lead going into the break. The Bearcats came out of halftime ready to play, getting on the scoreboard in the 51st minute when
AC Pettit hit the upper right corner of the net off of a free kick to pull SBU within two at 3-1. SBU then cut the lead to one in the 59th minute when
Karla Jamison headed a pass from
Nicole Billmeyer into the net as SBU trailed 3-2. However, the Bearcats wouldn't come any closer to Augustana as they ended up falling 5-2.
Southwest Baptist will return to action on Tuesday, September 16 when they travel to #13 Quincy. The game is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. from Quincy, Illinois.
