Box Score Rolla, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team played a strong game at Missouri S&T on Saturday evening, but fell 1-0 in their second game of the season. The Bearcats now stand at 0-2 on the season.
SBU presented a strong defensive front through most of the game, as the Bearcats and Miners played through a scoreless tie in the first half. In the second half, the Miners broke the tie with a goal in the 54th minute. SBU was unable to get on the scoreboard, despite strong play from the defense and
Alan Shriner in goal, but the Bearcats fell 1-0. Shriner picked up 10 saves in his first career start for SBU.
Southwest Baptist quickly returns to action on Sunday, September 7 when they play the University of Missouri-St. Louis on the campus of Missouri S&T. Opening kick is set for 5:00 p.m. from Rolla, Missouri.
