Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team hung tough with #5 Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday afternoon, but fell 3-0 in the contest. With the loss, SBU moves to 6-8 (1-5 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats took the Lopers to the wire in the first set, but fell 25-23, and then dropped the next two sets 25-15 and 25-16.
Kelsey Fankhauser led the way statistically for the Bearcats, picking up another double-double with 29 assists and 11 digs.
Hannah Blount was also in double-figures digs with a team high 18, while
Taryn Marton picked up 10 kills to lead SBU.
SBU will return to action on Friday, October 3 when they travel to Missouri Western to open up a two-game road trip. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from St. Joseph, Missouri.
