Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball battled hard against Central Oklahoma on Tuesday evening, but ultimately came up short as they fell to the undefeated Bronchos 3-1. With the loss, SBU moves to 6-6 (1-3 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats started strong, taking the first set 25-23, but then fell in the final three sets 25-16, 25-13, and 25-15. The Bearcats spread out the offense, with four different players registering six kills, as
Taryn Marton led the way with 8 kills. Defensively,
Christine Winkelman had a career high 22 digs, while
Hannah Blount added 18 and
Katy Fitzpatrick had 10, and
Kelsey Fankhauser chipped in 23 assists to go along with 9 digs.
SBU will return to action on Friday, September 26 when they host Fort Hays State. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Bolivar, Missouri.
