Box Score St. Charles, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team picked up their first MIAA victory of the 2014 season with a 3-0 sweep at Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Bearcats move to 6-5 (1-2 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats had a dominating performance over the Lions, taking the three sets 25-14, 25-16, and 25-18.
Mackynzi Gibson led the Bearcats with a team high 10 kills, while Taryon Marton added 8 and
Kalyn Sotomayor and
Payton White each had 7 kills a piece.
Kelsey Fankhauser picked up a game high 32 assists while
Hannah Blount had 18 digs, Marton 9 digs, and
Katy Fitzpatrick 7 digs in the victory.
SBU will begin a three-game home series on Tuesday, September 23 when Central Oklahoma comes to town. Play is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
