St. Charles, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team hung tough with Lindenwood, but fell to the Lions 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Bearcats drop to 0-7 (0-2 MIAA) on the season.

Lindenwood starting the scoring early in the contest against Southwest Baptist, with the Lions striking first in the 5th minute of action. Lindenwood would add another goal in the 28th minute, as SBU went into the half trailing 2-0. Lindenwood also struck first in the second half, taking a 3-0 lead, before Justin Schaeffer knocked in his third goal of the season, and third goal in as many games, as SBU came within two at 3-1. However, the Bearcats were not able to overcome the deficit, as SBU fell 3-1.

Southwest Baptist will be back in action on Thursday, September 25 when they host Harding. Play is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
