Box Score

Quincy, Ill. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team took down their second straight opponent appearing in the polls with a 2-1 win over Quincy on Tuesday evening. With the victory, SBU moves to 2-1 on the season.

The Bearcats jumped out on top early when Kate Jamison knocked in her first goal of the season off of a short cross from Elin Hammar at the 25:51 mark to put the Bearcats up 1-0. SBU held that lead, heading into the half, but twenty minutes into the second half, Quincy's Caroline Baser tied the game up at 1-1. Southwest Baptist and Quincy continued to play a tight contest for the remainder of regulation, forcing overtime to determine the outcome.

Kate Jamison once again came through big in overtime play, as she took the ricocheted pass of the wall and placed it into the back of the net at the 97:38 mark to give the Bearcats the 2-1 victory.

SBU will return home on Thursday, September 18 when they host Missouri Southern for the women's soccer home opener. Play is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
