Box Score 2 Aberdeen, S.D. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team suffered their first loss of the 2014 season on the first day of the NSU Dacotah Bank Volleyball Classic, losing to host school #21 Northern State 3-0 followed by a 3-0 loss to Minnesota-Crookston. The Bearcats now stand at 4-2 on the season.
The Bearcats played a tough game against Northern State, falling 25-15, 25-21, and 25-17. SBU was led by
Lori Angello's 7 kills, while
Taryn Marton added 6 kills to go along with 11 digs.
Hannah Blount led the team in digs with 18, while
Kelsey Fankhauser picked up 24 assists in the loss.
In game two of the day, SBU fell in straight sets to Minnesota-Crookston 25-23, 25-13, and 25-17.
Lori Angello once again led SBU with 11 kills, while
Taryn Marton gave the Bearcats double-digit kills at 10.
Hannah Blount once again led the SBU backcourt with 10 digs and
Katy Fitzpatrick added 8 digs, while
Kelsey Fankhauser had a team high 28 assists to go along with 8 digs.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, September 13 for the final day of the NSU Dacotah Bank Volleyball Classic. SBU will take on St. Cloud State at 10:00 a.m. followed by Minot State at 4:45 p.m. from Aberdeen, South Dakota.
