Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Southwest Baptist University women's tennis team fell at the hands of top ranked Barry on Friday morning 5-0. The Bearcats ended their season by reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second straight season, finishing with a 23-4 record on the season.

The Bearcats fell behind 3-0 early, dropping all three doubles matches. Fanni Varga/Christina Zentai hung tough with the #6 ranked doubles team in the nation, but fell 8-6. In singles play, Barry picked up two victories to close out the match 5-0.

SBU claimed their third striaght MIAA Regular Season Championship, as well as claiming their fourth straight MIAA Tournament Championship. The Bearcats also reached the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second straight year, which is the furthest the women's tennis program has ever reached in NCAA competition.
