Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team has advanced to the NCAA Championships Quarterfinals with a 5-4 victory over Bluefield State late Wednesday evening. With the victory, the Bearcats now move to 13-9 on the season.
SBU opened up play by taking two of three doubles matches, with the doubles teams of
Kristof Kinal/
Omar El Kheshen and
Chris Blodig/
Daniel Cardona picking up victories at #1 and #2 doubles. The Bearcats sealed the victory with singles wins by Kinal, El Kheshen, and Blodig as SBU went on to a 5-4 victory.
The Bearcats will now play #2 Hawaii-Pacific in the NCAA quarterfinals, with play set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
