Bolivar, Mo. - For the third straight year, the Southwest Baptist Women's Tennis team claimed the MIAA Regular Season Title with a 9-0 victory over Missouri Western. The Bearcats also claimed a 5-1 victory over #29 Arkansas Tech earlier in the day. SBU now stands at 17-3 (9-1 MIAA), sharing the regular season championship with Northeastern State.
The Bearcats were dominant for the entire day, only dropping one match between the two contests. The doubles teams of
Fanni Varga/Christian Zentai and
Andjela Panovski/
Paula Carvajaleno both picked up two doubles victories on the day, while Varga, Zentai, and
Mehak Singh all picked up two singles victories on the day.
The Bearcats will close out their regular season on Tuesday, April 15 when they travel to #21 Drury for a match with the Lady Panthers. Play is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. from Springfield, Missouri.
