Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Liberty, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team split with William Jewell on Thursday afternoon, taking game two 6-3 after falling 5-0 in game one.

The Bearcats struggled to get their offense going in game one, as they ended up falling 5-0. In game two the Bearcats came out of the gate strong, putting up a run in the first inning when Hailey Turner singled home Londyn Backfisch to give SBU a 1-0 lead. Jewell tied the game up in the bottom half of the inning but SBU quickly responded. In the top of the second Jordan Gray singled home Tyler Hernandez to give the Bearcats the lead, and Amanda Smith also came home on a Cardinal error. SBU added another run in the third off of a Tyler Hernandez single as they increased their lead to 4-1. Jewell responded with two homeruns in the fourth inning, but Tyler Hernandez continued her strong day with a two-run homerun as SBU went on to a 6-3 game two victory.

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, March 22 when they host Ottawa. Play is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. from the SBU Softball Field in Bolivar.
