Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team dropped both games of a double-header against Northwest Missouri on Friday afternoon. The Bearcats fell in game one 2-0 before dropping game two 3-2.

In the first game, starting pitcher Kyra Parker gave SBU an outstanding effort from the circle. Parker threw a complete game, allowing one earned run, while striking out four in the loss. The Bearcats averaged a baserunner an inning, but were unable to put any runs on the scoreboard.

In the second game of the afternoon Northwest Missouri struck first with two runs in the top of the third to go up 2-0. SBU responded in the bottom half of the inning with a run off an rbi fielder's choice from Raigan Ratliff to cut the lead in half at 2-1. The Bearcats tied the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth when Londyn Backfisch singled up the middle to bring home Amanda Smith. However, Northwest Missouri would hit a homerun in the top of the ninth as SBU would end up falling 3-2.

The Bearcats will quickly return to action on Saturday, March 15 when they host Missouri Western. First pitch of the double-header is set for 1:00 p.m. from the SBU Softball Field in Bolivar.
