SBU Women's Basketball Heads to Pittsburg State on Tuesday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will face their second straight opponent who has appeared in the polls when they travel to Pittsburg State on Tuesday.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Todd Voss in his third season on the Bearcat bench. Coach Voss has compiled a 137-74 career coaching record (29-42 at SBU), and has made two NAIA Final Four appearances while as head coach. Coach Voss comes to SBU after spending 5 years as the assistant women's basketball coach at Drake University.

Lane Lord is in his 7th season as the head coach at Pittsburg State. Lord holds a career coaching record of 104-68. Under Lord, the team set school records for most wins, fewest losses, highest winning percentage, consecutive wins, most points in a game, rebounds and blocked shots.

Pittsburg State leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 29-24. The Gorillas claimed a 74-61 victory in their only meeting last season.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist is coming off of back-to-back victories, including an 83-78 upset victory over Missouri Southern, and are now 9-9 (4-7 MIAA) on the season.

Brook Duncan leads the way for the Bearcats, averaging 14.7 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game, while Jacqui Zelenka averages 13.1 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. Dilonna Johnson averages 8.9 ppg and 4.9 assists per game, while down low Mackenzie Skupa averages 9.3 ppg and Morgan Lucy averages 7.1 ppg.

Scouting the Gorillas
Pittsburg State comes into the game against Southwest Baptist with a 15-6 (8-3 MIAA) record on the season. Pittsburg State has won four straight, including a 69-66 victory at Central Oklahoma their last time out.

Lizzy Jeronimus is the leading scorer for the Gorillas, averaging 19.9 ppg, and is the only player averaging double-figures. Jeronimus also leads PSU in rebounding and assists at 7.1 rpg and 2.1 apg.
